About
Mechinah Golders Green Limited (Company No. 1136822) — supporting children and young people who face poverty, educational disadvantage, learning disabilities, family hardship, or social exclusion.
Who We Are
Mechinah Golders Green Limited exists to support children and young people whose opportunities are limited by poverty, educational disadvantage, learning disabilities, family hardship, or social exclusion.
Many children face significant barriers which affect not only their education, but also their confidence, emotional well-being, health, and ability to participate fully in society. Families experiencing financial hardship are often forced to make impossible choices between basic necessities and educational support, while children with learning difficulties may struggle to access the specialist help they require.
Our charity was established to provide practical, compassionate, and meaningful support to these children and their families. We work closely with parents, schools, educators, carers, and community professionals to identify areas of need and provide targeted interventions that improve educational outcomes, emotional well-being, social inclusion, and long-term life opportunities.
At the heart of our work is the belief that every child deserves dignity, encouragement, opportunity, and the chance to thrive regardless of their background or personal circumstances.

Our Work in Practice
At Mechinah Golders Green Limited, we understand that educational success cannot be separated from emotional well-being, stability, confidence, and social belonging.
Many of the children we support experience:
- Financial hardship
- Educational delay
- Social isolation
- Learning disabilities
- Low self-esteem
- Lack of access to enrichment opportunities
- Emotional stress linked to instability at home
For this reason, our approach is holistic and child-centred.
In addition to direct educational support, we provide opportunities for children to participate in carefully supervised educational outings, recreational day trips, and overnight residential experiences.
For many children, these programmes represent:
- Their first opportunity to travel safely in a structured environment
- Their first experience participating in organised recreational activities
- A chance to build healthy friendships and social confidence
- Access to positive mentorship and emotional support
- Relief from difficult home circumstances
- Opportunities to develop independence, resilience, and teamwork
These experiences are often transformative and play a significant role in improving emotional well-being, behaviour, confidence, and engagement with education.
All activities are organised with safeguarding, supervision, welfare, and accessibility as central priorities.

Impact
Real stories from children and families whose lives have been changed through our work.
“I Finally Felt Like I Could Keep Up”
“Before Mechinah helped me, I was always scared in class. I couldn’t read as fast as the other boys and I didn’t understand my work. I thought I was stupid. Then I started getting special lessons just for me. My teacher explained things slowly and showed me tricks to remember. After a few months, I put my hand up in class for the first time. Now I don’t feel embarrassed anymore. I feel proud.”
Impact: Specialist educational support and tailored interventions enabled the child to improve academically while also rebuilding confidence and self-esteem.
“We Were Choosing Between Heating and School”
“There was a time when we had to decide whether to pay for school books or keep the heating on. Mechinah stepped in quietly and respectfully. They helped with learning materials, school costs, and practical support. Most importantly, they treated us with dignity. My children started going to school confident again, and the stress inside the house became lighter.”
Impact: Financial assistance and educational support reduced hardship and improved the child’s attendance, confidence, and engagement in school life.
“The Overnight Trip Changed Him”
“My son struggles socially and usually isolates himself from other children. He was nervous about going on the overnight trip, but the staff encouraged him patiently and made him feel safe. When he returned home, he could not stop talking about the activities, the friendships he made, and the responsibility he was given. It was the first time in years that I saw him genuinely happy and confident around others.”
Impact: Participation in supervised residential activities improved social confidence, emotional well-being, peer relationships, and independence.
“They Didn’t Give Up on Me”
“Other places told my parents I was too difficult to help. Mechinah gave me people who understood how I learn. I now have routines and support that help me stay calm and focused. I still find things hard, but I don’t feel lost anymore.”
Impact: Structured learning support and emotional guidance enabled improved educational engagement and emotional regulation.
